While I am firmly rooted as a jazz and pop pianist, after the reception I received for my first “Country” album, still having song ideas in my head I decided to compose and arrange a second album.
The tracks on “Sippin’ Single Malt” feature I believe a well-grounded, down-to-earth voice—simple, sincere, and driven by the kind of truths long instilled in country music. Of course, I had to throw in something novel as is my style, so “Ain’t Just Another Country Song” is my contribution on this album. The album’s title track, “Sippin’ Single Malt,” also came about when a good friend asked me when I was going to write a song entitled, “Drinkin’ Single Malt,” This was the result. Finally, to the dismay of my wife, also included is a tune that talks about my dog – well, not just my dog, but puppy dogs in general. Don’t shoot me – this album is supposed to be sincere, not heavy metal!
